SEVESO II – Major Industrial Accidents
In the Slovak Republic, the issue is addressed comprehensively by Act No. 261/2002 Coll, about the prevention of major industrial accidents and its implementing legislation - Decree of the Ministry of Environment No. 489/2002 Coll, which implements certain provisions of the Prevention of Major Industrial Accidents and the Decree of the Ministry of Environment No. 490/2002 Coll, the safety report and emergency plan, as amended. The Act addresses both the prevention of major industrial accidents, which plays an important role to certain hazardous chemicals, but also deals with the readiness to quickly and efficiently overcome the limitation of the accident consequences. SCPC is an authorized person to fulfill this obligations under § 14 of Law No. 261/2002 Coll.
